Tribute To A True Friend

Our very good friend John"Big Dog"Beadle passed away in the spring of 2006. John and his wife Sue used to race a 1962 MGA back in the early 60's when you would drive your race car to the track and use it for transportation during the week. Today we went to John' s house and picked up the old race car to get it back on the road again after some 30 years. We now have the car at the Dover Brothers Racin garage. The engine was rebuilt by John Twist from University Motors about 10 years ago. Our goal is to get the car running for John's daughter Terry. She wants to keep the car original just get the mechanical working and safe to drive on the road .

John was a very special friend he was a graduate of the University of Michigan and retired from Amway as Data Processing Manager. John was a BBQ expert who taught me all about BBQ he never shared any of his recipes but he was always willing to help you with anything you wanted to make. He always wanted to get the MGA running again after he retired but his health ended up not working out he lost both of his legs to diabetes he said he would never use a wheel chair and true to his word he didn't. John is a friend that will always be missed and always remembered.

George & Tom,

I can't begin to tell you what stand up guys you are for doing this for lost friend. So many times promises are made to those who expressed wishes sadly to never be fulfilled. Only real gentleman would carry out such an endeavor and you are obviously in that category.

Many of us have big expectations of our children someday having certain things that we hope they will enjoy and possibly they will feel the little bit of our own blood, sweat and tears that are part of that something. Also included in our dreams are visions of them someday telling their own children, "This was my father's and he wanted me to have it and someday it will be yours."

Not only was John lucky to have the two of you to call friends but his wife Sue and daughter Terry as truly blessed as well. Hopefully all concerned will realize that you didn't pick up John's car today, you in fact picked up his very soul.

Best regards, Gary Faules

Thank you very much John was a special friend. he had some stories racing with some of the old timers, and camping at the track in an old tent. I hope to post a picture of John racing in the Old "A" he always carried it with him. John's soul is still in the car we know that. We hope to have the brakes done by early next week .
Thanks Again
George

I want to thank George and Tom for their hard work on this Car. I know my dad is looking down on them with a big smile. He will be happy to know that this car will be running soon, and possibly racing again with the next generation of Team X members. ( my nephews).
I wanted to let you all know, I almost cried with all the wonderful thoughts that are posted here.
Again Thanks for everything you all are doing.

Terri,

Not only as a racer but speaking as a friend of George and Tom and as a father, your gratitude really made this whole thing worth while. Not only for those who are helping with the car but to those of us who are tired of what seems to be so many that never find time to show gratitude and respect and love for those who really care about others and are willing to go that extra distance to make a difference. I never knew your father but I do know he's very proud of the guys and you too.
